The Abbey Notting Hill - A 19th-century townhouse hotel with spa baths near Notting Hill Gate Underground Station

Located just a 1-minute walk from Notting Hill Gate Underground Station, The Abbey Notting Hill occupies an imposing 19th-century townhouse. Rooms feature flat-screen TVs, seating areas, tea and coffee facilities, and marble-clad bathrooms with spa baths and bathrobes. Guests can choose between a buffet-style, continental, or full English breakfast served in the naturally lit breakfast room or the charming Conservatory. The Abbey Notting Hill provides a 24-hour front desk, free Wi-Fi, and luggage storage, with staff offering local area advice. Nearby attractions include Portobello Market (10-minute walk), Hyde Park (10-minute walk), and Kensington Gardens. Heathrow Airport is accessible via the Underground, changing at Earls Court, while London Paddington Station offers direct rail links.

Pros

The 19th-century townhouse combines historic charm with modern amenities like spa baths and free Wi-Fi.

Prime location 1 minute from Notting Hill Gate Underground Station and 10 minutes from Portobello Market.

Breakfast options include buffet-style, continental, and full English, served in a conservatory or patio garden.

Cons

The hotel only has stair access to all floors, with no elevator.

Some guests may find the 10-minute walk to major attractions like Hyde Park less convenient.

“The Abbey Notting Hill stands out for its prime location, a stone's throw from the underground in a safe and picturesque area; the exceptionally kind staff further enhances the welcoming atmosphere. It's the sort of place where you can expect a comfortable bed and that thoughtful touch of tea and biscuits in your room, making it a solid choice. I think that it is a find for its price and location.”
